Kodak getting out of consumer inkjet printer business
Kodak confirmed today that it will discontinue all sales of consumer inkjet printers, cutting 1200 jobs.

The bankrupt former giant had previously announced 1000 layoffs.

Kodak is working to restructure its business, ceasing losing operations on focusing on higher margin divisions.

Eventually, the company would like to emerge from bankruptcy focused on just commercial, packaging and functional printing solutions and enterprise services.

After declaring bankruptcy earlier this year the company hopes to emerge next year.

Well I own TWO kodak devices! a digital camera, which they have gotten out of the market...and now an ink jet printer and it turns out they are also giving THAT up!

I wish I had of picked some other company than Kodak when I was making those purchases. I will NEVER buy anything Kodak again though.

Just got done replacing an office printer from the Kodak line once the print head belched up its balls. What was once great in practice fell flat of its ass in practice.

They should have made the print heads as easily accessible as the ink cartridges. I would have continued to use their products & they might have gotten a little more life out of the company on that side of the house.

Being a professional photographer, I can only shake my head as time & technology has turned it back on the film aspects.
