Popcorn Time: Windows, Mac and Android versions get UI updates while non-jailbroken iOS version gets closer to reality
The team behind Popcorn Time, after a brief hiatus, have returned with updates to their Windows, Mac and Android versions.

As the team says, the updates are mainly for the UI and for general performance and stability. Reads the post: "Getting this software to work flawlessly in one hell of a challenge and with these releases we're getting so much closer to this desired goal...

Also the content is of higher quality this time around, and we're doing our best to make sure you won't have movies that don't play, specific episodes in a series you're watching that get stuck.. We're doing our best to make sure the video will run smoothly without stuttering, looping, pausing... That the sound quality will be even higher than it already was, that the download will be quicker and that the overall watching experience will rock your world! Even more than before. It worked beautifully when testing it, and if it works beautifully for all of you... Well, we may be able to start fantasizing on crossing out the word BETA before the version number ;-)"

Here is the changelog for the Mac and Windows versions, which now move to beta 5.2:

New interface for Mac Os X!
Metadata errors fixed! (0/0 peers,0kb/s, 100% and then back to info page issues are under this category).
Magnet links support
Initial download progress fix
Torrent engine stability updates
Seek and download bar fixes
Brazilian Portuguese subtitles fix
Cache bug fixed.
Updater improvements – From the next version on there will be no need for you to re-install every time we offer a new version!

And the change log for the new Android version, beta 2.5:

Magnet links support
Added app translations (Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese)
A lot of bugs fixes (torrent not found included!)
Improved subtitles logic
Some UI changes
Updater improvements – From the next version on there will be no need for you to re-install every time we offer a new version!

Also notably, a version of Popcorn Time available for non-jailbroken iOS devices is still in the works, and a new "collaboration is really starting to bear fruits."

Check out the software here.

Yet I don't see the change log indicating "Removed trojan viruses from our homemade and repacked K-lite codec pack"

Anyone that uses this shitty program should have their head checked.

Network engineer here people........expert in all things technical in which I engage......TRUST ME!

PT is nasty and will get you a DMCA take down notice.

Then can i ask a question in general why do you get a take down notice if the same thing is on the xbox one and free and in the apps section on the console??

I find this whole take down thing bull because your not busting xbox one users on the service and the xbox one service is called popcornflix.com and it uses the same bittorrent system to stream tv shows and movies to the xbox one and it's not getting these notices.

Kinda knew I was right but.....just checked the Xbox apps......NO POPCORN TIME APP. It's called "Popcornflix" and is seemingly legit.

Now, IF you have Popcorn time on your xbox then it's a jacked version and totally illicit.

C'mon man, take down notices are not bull......they're very real whether you choose to believe or not. You'll be the one fighting a 3 grand fine in court.

But I did actually get an email 2 days after my new wife fell asleep watching "Selfie" from tv and that show was even cancelled! Email was from ATT Uverse. Showed my IP, showed the program watched and date it was watched. Confirmed with my wife. It downloads from the torrents and while I download a small amount on my own using Utorrent, I use Peerblock blocking 2.5 billion IPs. However, Peerblock will cripple Popcorn Time.

Not to mention, PT has 2 distinct viruses packed obscurely in the K-lite codec pack. Of course they lie stating no viruses but they're F.O.S.

You need to PROVE that Popcornflix is actually using the Torrents as I just checked and see nothing stating that. PLUS, this won't download just ANY show on tv. No Walking Dead!

Popcornflix specializes in "full-length INDEPENDENT movies" and is NOTHING like popcorn time.

Check yourself before you propagate this nonsense!!! I feel dumber now!

Just don't download illegally!!!!!!!!!!! Buy the product, if you like it, keep it, if you don't, sell it on Ebay. There are better choices to be made here than downloading illegally and worrying about threatening letters!
