DVD2One guide added

DVD2One guide added
We've just added a DVD2One guide to our articles section. Even though the software is very easy to use, the process might not be obvious to all users. No need to worry about that anymore!

DVD2One lets you backup a DVD-movie on a single 4.36GB DVD-R disc by reducing the size of the movie in numerous ways, in addition to which it is extremely fast!

You can find the guide at:
https://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/dvd-9_to_dvd-r_with_dvd2one.cfm

You can download DVD2One from our software archive.

This Guide does not cover re-encoding the MPEG VOB files if they are still to large once all the extra features have been removed, can DVD2One do this?

  • dRD

csayers: It does it automatically if the clip doesn't fit after removing the extra features. And re-encoding takes appx. 20mins for full movie.

Nice! Will have to give it a try - sure beats the 6 hours that ReMPEG takes on my 2.4 P4 with DDR RAM!

OK I am still a newbie at this so forgive me if i sound stupid. But after I use DVD2One and try to burn it using Nero Vision Express, it does not support the files. I looked in the folder i used for the edited movie, and there was nothing there. Can anyone help me please?

Using only the trial version, I got only one successful result (out of four dvd titles), but the successful result was burned just fine with either Nero or Primo-Prassi.

    Radio Shack 80286
    128K Ram
    Sears 9" B/W monitor
    Dual 5-1/4" floppies
    Batteries, cassette-tape drive

Fabulous guide as usual. But, I must be screwing something up when I burn with Nero. I have the full version of DVD2One. The copied DVD will play ok on the PC, but I get nothing out of the standalone player. Would someone layout the step by step process for finishing this guide burning with Nero? PS: In the guide, where it says to create a new "destination directory", I take it that it does not have to be a "VIDEO_TS" named directory.

I figured it out. The problem was with Nero. I have the latest version 5.10.15a and it works with no problem at all.

You can lower the bitrate to fit loads on a DVD, but the quality will be compromised. You could also fit movies in VCD format onto a DVD and they should work Ok as well.

    Paul.

Now ask yourself, does that make me less dangerous...or more dangerous?

Possibly because you are using capital letters?
