2 years ago I thought this would be a cool idea. but now with the harddrive based ones, I don't see the big deal now. Especially now that 512 MB CF cards are relatively cheap now (around $120). Between 3 512 cards and my Mindstor 20 GB drive, I can go a entire day of very active picture taking and download at the end of the day (or at least a few times during the day).

Now what would be cool would be a DVD/RW combo card reader. At 4.7 MB per disc, I can see the use of that. Typical, folks build cool stuff a year or so too late.

BTW, this isn't the first company to do a CDRW drive like this, but probably one of the first "well known" ones.

A drive like this will probably appeal to folks stuck with several smaller flash cards (especially formats other than CF).

Correction, DVD holds 4.7 Gigabytes not megabytes. Also, I can't seem to find this product on the AOpen website. Anyone have the URL?
