The Internet2 heavily used for piracy
The second closely follows the first in human behaviour patterns. Internet2 is a consertium led by more than 200 universities working in partnership with industry and government. They aim to develop advanced network applications and technologies for the tomorrow's Internet. Apparently, the Internet2 is already utilized for distributing copyrighted content.
Recording Industry Association of America has accused hundreds of college students of illegally using it for sharing files. And once the RIAA is involved, well... I wonder how many college students will be getting threatened with jail this time.

"Right now the Internet2 is a zone of lawlessness when it comes to theft of music and movies and that just can't be allowed to continue." - RIAA President Cary Sherman.
The Internet2 announces on their website:
The Internet2 community has deployed an advanced network infrastructure that represents the leading-edge of Internet technology and provides a window into the potential of the future Internet. However, the hundreds of campus networks, dozens of regional networks, and nationwide networks that make up the Internet2 community's network infrastructure are not immune to the issues that arise in today's commercial Internet, including illegal file sharing. Internet2 and its more than 200 university members are working together to prevent and address illegal file sharing
