Nero 7 in October

Nero 7 in October
We received word a few days ago that Nero 7 will be available for purchase on approximately October 10th. It will be available at retail stores and of course through the Nero webshop in the second week of October. No details on price or any new features to Nero have yet been disclosed. Those users who have purchased a copy of Nero 6 from Sept 1st until November 30th 2005 will be eligible for a free upgrade to Nero 7.

To take advantage of the upgrade those users will have to register their current serial number on the Nero website to receive information and instructions on getting the upgrade. This registration will have to take place before December 31st 2005. Customers who purchased their full version of Nero 6 before September 1st 2005 will be eligible for a discount offer for a Nero 7 purchase.

As well as with past versions of Nero, further updates after Nero 7's initial release will remain free of charge top those who purchased Nero 7. Nero 6 updates will continue for the next few months but demo versions of Nero 6 will not be provided.

Most people love Nero, but it seems they didn't even resolve all the bugs in 6 and now they're kicking out 7.
    I'm a bit worried.....

Doubt that will happen creaky. That's how they identify proper versions for support purposes.

unless i've missed something (ie i don't think there's a legitimate pre-released version out there), it might be something to do with the fact that it might be a pirated version you're all using

I don't think it would be a beta but it is only version 7.0.0.0 so most likely the retail version will have a few fixes and will be version 7.0.0.1 or higher.

I've heard its just a leaked version of the retail copy sent around for evaluations/review.

@aabbccdd - there's another few Nero 7 threads that mention that, but can't remember the links. Looks in the news forum, there's a Nero 7 thread in there and it details the Nero 6 buy date that qualifies for free upgrade to 7...

installed Nero 7 premium.there seems to be an issue with the overburning..turning on the feature under the options->expert features DOES NOT enable write disk-at-one option;vital for burning 800MB+ cd's/dvd's.i've gone back to Nero 6 ultra and its working now!

I was one of the lucky friends of a beta testers and its odd i am a fan of roxio but Nero vision express is great the rest of the whole system is bloat, I know Nero has longtime fan base I am not one of them hard to navigate but with 16:9 support and DivX encoding good menu options I would reccomend at least nerovision express 3 other than that I like roxio but wouldn't purchase ther new 7.5 edition its bloat and lame with lots of add ons that are freeware I already have someday we will get the best of both worlds. Nero is also slow on alot of tasks and I have a p4 2.4ghz with 1gb of pc 2700/333 ram. just my two cents don't start hattin

i hear ya, most programs are all about bloat, at the end of the day they have to make up new things to make us buy their stuff, but i just install the bits i need (as long as the programs continue to let us do that). i find the same problem with software at work in the Unix world, u guess it's the same everywhere, bloat, bloat bloat!

I have recently had the "pleasure" of testing a pre-release of Nero on a friends pc and I must say it is heavy on system resources. He works for an IT firm and asked me as a everyday experimenter to test it but could not give it to me :(. Anyway not bad for a new look but if you are looking to burn a cd I suggest using another program. The burning rom is okay but a bit slow; Nero vision express is umm lets say for slower pcs it might be trouble; the best feature I encountered was the Nero photo viewer which seems a tad bit quicker. Just tossing in my two cents but I'm inclined to wait until the official release to really put it to the test.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

Matt thats true it is a resources hog, the reason I like the video burning qualities are my HDTV with 16:9 aspect ratio and DivX support. I also burned a disc to disc copy and it took way to long like 20 minutes Nero doesn't like burning disc to disc it wants to make an image file on hd then burn to disc. While Roxio burns that disc in 5 minutes disc to disc. NOTE: anyone wanting to install both systems its ok just don't install Nero InCD or Roxio Drag To Disc these parts of the programs cause havok with each other and sometimes other software.

I have the same problem as Phantom99 and Augie1 with music CDs skipping after burning from MP3s on my car stereo. They also skip (but only a little) on the PC CD player. Going back to 6 after the "beta" test.

Had the same probs with mp3 -> CDA discs skipping, even with really slow burns and no other activity at time of convert/burn.

Also saw the overburn prob, but you can get around this by turning the option off to check media before burning.

Enough testing for me, I won't buy it until there's a few updates out... even then, why should we update from 6, when 6 works fine?

Phantom99 i'm having the same problem. I just burned a CD using Nero 7 from which I got from a torrent site. Every track of the CD skips in the begining or in the first 60 seconds. NEVER had this problem with Nero 6,5, or 4. (Never used 3, 2, and 1) Is it because it's a pireted copy or is it because it needs an update?

I have recently purchased Sony DVD writer and Nero 7 cd came with the hardware.
Now I have install windows vista. Nero 7 doesn’t work with Vista.
    1) How can I upgrade to vista.
    2) When I install Nero 7 its serial no appears during installation. But I don't find it's serial no. How can i search that no, Which I think require for upgrade.
