    borhan9,

Sorry if I spoiled the contest for you. Frankly I didn't think anyone outside Europe cared. =)

I'm still stunned by the win. =) For us it's like if the same city won NBA, NFL and NHL the same year.

    Thats your opinion NINVIN21

You cant argue with theese facts:

"Lordi won the contest with the highest score ever, 292 points. "

I hate to sound retarded, (American...) What the hell is a euorvision?

I take it LORDI is a band? Was this some kind of music contest? Maybe you can educate me.

Sounds important to you fellas, so congrats whatever you did!

    hhhhmmmm,
I just dont get it, if its a pop contest they should of not really been there.
This has to be one of the first news topics that was not about tech.

I have heard better music out of finland.

Its just I think that music is going downhill big time in USA. I guess I was just expecting better from over there. (but it looks like you guys are just ripping old stuff off of us.(gwar/rob zombie)

    Its all to commerical.

I no its my just my opinion but come on everyone in here could write something like that and put on a better show they just stood there.

I got to go see how they scored points sorry but thats just crazy.and Im a big fan of the harder stuff.

at least i am very proud about that what now we achieved. we did history in many ways.

    21.5.2006 22:26 #19

  • domie

I thimk it is a bit irrelevant of you to go shrieking " WE GOT THE HIGHEST POINTS TOTAL" considering they increased the number of countries who give points from 20 to 37, divide the points total by number of countries involved in voting and the finn guys wouldn't be in the top 10 of overall winners (not that anyone cares about that, good luck to them i say)

perhaps in question song has not been best, in any case it was however something what people have wanted to hear. is extremely boring listen always and always something from so similar. future comes to show, which type music will come to be most popular.

    22.5.2006 04:06 #21

  • Lethal_B

I agree, xXx; Finland went BOLD, and it paid off. Too much of the same tripe over the years, and I think Lordi really shook it up this year.

Personally I think Lordi is an insult and an embarrassment to our whole country with music like theirs. Dealing with HIM (or HER) is enough. We do have normal people here too. They are rare but they do exist.

    22.5.2006 06:12 #23

  • oappi

luckyly for lordi most of the ppl liked it.. I dont see anything wrong with the music. Maybe bit more "Heavy" than i normaly listen, but way better than that other cr*p that was played in that contest

    22.5.2006 07:09 #24

  • NINVIN21

YEah, Him is getting kinda Big over here(usa) Because of Viva LA BAm.

That little punk lives 30 min. from me

Well im done with this topic,
Thanks for the info I never new about eurovision.
I have to find a copy of the whole thing so I can show some friends and say look at this crap.

this is by far one of the worst bands I have ever heard. are they the only ones that entered the contest? finland has much better offerings than this gimmicky drivel.

Big CONGRATS to Lordi & Finland! I listened to the broadcast on BBC2 internet radio. Lordi is perhaps not my cup of meat but it made me smile. The people have spoken!

Personally, I liked Germany's entry, "No No Never" by Texas Lightning. Really good old school country western music from a German band. Who would have thunk it?

Is that a picture of Daz Simpson? That's the old fart singing something about "a teenage life"? Wow, looks like the teen years are pretty far behind him...

    22.5.2006 09:11 #28

  • rav009

    @GreyArea, Yep! Lol :P

I didn't watch The Eurovision as Britain are misreably poor at it, I'm awaiting a decent entry!

    Hi all,

I watched the contest for the first time in a while.

I didn't think that UK's entry "Teenage Life" was that bad, or as bad as the lack of marks, as I had the chorus going round in my head for a few weeks.

But I voted for Lordi, and my 16-year old son and I agreed on this (I'm 42.)

My wife didn't like it though, and prefered Latvia's.

Romania's entry was good as well.

I was really pleased when Finland won, and that the UK gave them 12 points as well.

    Hyvaa Lordi! Hyvaa Suomi!

    Cheers,
    Tony

actually not my style of music but the finnish r brave that they had the guts to send something completely NEW to the contest instead of some popsong... maybe some message to the other countries for not being too scared to send some band "not 100% eurovision-compatible"

congratulations Lordi + the rest of Suomi! :-)
