Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus will have HD DVD and Blu-ray support

The Corel Corporation has announced that they will be releasing Ulead DVD Moviefactory 6 Plus which will be the first consumer entry level product to have HD-DVD burning capability.

New features include:
Among the range of exciting new features, Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus introduces the Edit Room, allowing users to edit captured video on an intuitive timeline with overlays, titles and music tracks. For video editors that demand more from a DVD authoring application, Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus includes comprehensive menu templates, and the facility to work with HDV, DivX or AVCHD, and output in HD DVD, Blu-ray, DVD-Video or legacy VCD.



The English version of Corel Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus will retail for $80 USD from the Ulead website.

  We've been using Ulead Movie Factory 5 to author HD-DVD format discs burned to DVD+R or -R:

  Now with Movie Factory 6 it shouldn't be too hard to do the same thing for BD format burned to +R or -R, right? It's time for me get version 6 and experiment.

For example, when you have a home movie recorded on a 1080 HD video camera, you can capture it to your PC, use Ulead 6 to edit and author to BluRay file format, burn to a BluRay disc on your BluRay burner, then play on your PS3. It's not really meant for copying movies as such so the media companies will have no problem with it.
