Man charged for uploading '24'
A Chicago man has been charged for uploading copies of the hit TV show, 24, to a website before they aired on television. Federal authorities have charged Jorge Romero, 24, with copyright violations for illegally distributing episodes of Fox's show. He had downloaded leaked episodes of 24 and then uploaded them to LiveDigital.com, according to a federal complaint filed in Los Angeles on Friday.

The four episodes were from the sixth season of 24 and were uploaded more than a week before they were to be aired on TV. Romero was charged with one felony count of uploading copyrighted material to a publicly accessible computer network knowing the work was intended for commercial distribution.

If convicted, he could be looking at up to three years in prison.

Quote:A Chicago man has been charged for uploading copies of the hit TV show, 24, to a website before they aired on television. This is the main reason. I would have uploaded it after it was shown on TV. It's stupid either way.

That would be to easy if they went after those truly responsible for the leak of these shows, movies, music and etc. But it makes for more fun for them screwing with people numbers and facts. As long as they get to keep feeding the public with this BS they cant continue to do this stuff with no real hassle. As for the dude that uploaded the show he shoulda been a lot smarter. He shoulda known they would be waiting and watching for whose gonna slip and upload something before the release date.

Yes, They were uploaded before tv airing, BUT what nobdy has bothered to note is THAT FOX PUT OUT A FUCKING PROMO DVD to all of the big box stores. It was $9.99 at Wal-Mart and contained the first four episodes. It was out at least 2 weeks before the season started. I couldnt figure out why though. Thats how he got them. Its not like he stole them from fox studios....

Once again, they put this guy to the nails, but no effort was put into getting to the source of the leak.
