Microsoft title coming to Nintendo DS

Microsoft title coming to Nintendo DS
In a rare move, Microsoft's Xbox 360 title Viva Pinata will be heading to the Nintendo DS.

The game will be based off the current 360 title and Microsoft-owned developer Rare will be in charge of development.

Rare calls the new game “a full-size Viva Piñata game in your pocket, featuring not only the entire range of paper beasts from the Xbox 360 title but also a few new ones thrown in to spice things up for those familiar with the established cast.”

“One of the biggest changes is obviously the control method, with stylus input transforming the way in which you interact with your menagerie. Design, nurture, instruct, protect and care for your garden and animals through direct touch,”
detailed Rare. “The DS Wi-Fi service also lets you send prime Piñata specimens to your friends, making the act of parading your Doenut around in a humiliating pirate outfit easier than ever.”

Rare was originally a Nintendo-exclusive developer making such hits as Donkey Kong Country for the SNES. However, in 2002 Microsoft paid $377 million for full ownership of Rare as an exclusive Microsoft developer.

Quote:In a rare moveno pun intended I hope. however more seriously it doesn't seem to odd considering that after MS bought RARE in 2002, there was still a handful of RARE title's to hit the GBA.

I know this is wishful thinking, but I wish we could get Rare to release Goldeneye/Perfect Dark on the Virtual Console for Wii... with online play and controls that could be mapped to the wiimote, classic controller or gamecube controller. It'd sell like hotcakes!

This is only good for the gamers. There have been talks about eventually having all games on all platforms. Hell, next year there is a game coming out featuring Mario and Sonic together. Ten years ago, nobody ever thought that would happen.

So correct in the early 90's I would have shat my pants at thought them being together.

This sounds cool, maybe it'll be a fun game. But is there really a game coming out with sonic and mario together, that would be awsome, especially if it was based of Super Mario Bro's Z

The company(sadly) went bankrupt with their console line. Why not make your greatest games multi-platform?

I think they will make another console one day... I think some of the profits from games are going into a new "secret weapon", I hope...

Now that they don't make consoles it makes perfect sense to port your titles onto other consooles. however, Sega would have never ported there first-party titles if they were still producing consoles. that was my point. back in the early nineties, when Sega has releasing a Sonic game as fast a Nintendo was releasing a Mario game, I never though that a Sega first title game would appair on anything but a Sega consoles (espically there arch rival Nintendo).

That would be cool to Sega come back into the ring as a contender in the console wars. Remember all the fierce competition that had with Nintendo in the Genesis / Super NES days with the sports games?
