New iPods coming September 5th?
Apple has finally confirmed that it will be holding a special event on September 5th, in which it is generally expected to unveil new versions of its iPod player which many believe will have a touch sensitive screen (like that of the iPhone) or perhaps a new flash based iPod.

There is also speculation that the Beatles will be finally getting their digital tracks available for download on iTunes.

The rumors of the new iPods have been alight for months, and validated when a website claiming it had pictures of the new iPod Nano line was asked to remove the pictures or face a lawsuit.

More updates on September 5th.

im cool with my 80gb ipod. so will they only have new versions of the nano or the video?and if the only new revision is a touch screen then they're not getting my money.what they should do is make new software like the zune and be able to ut your own wallpapers in the background now that'd be nice.

I don't want any more features. I'd be happy with the 80g model only with say 1tb of storage so that i could put all of my music on uncompressed.

what's wrong with the ipods we already own? Why do we need a new ipod every few years? If it isn't something extraordinary like a 30gig FLASH ipod who cares. I think it's crazy how some people will actuallt sell their current ipod for no reason just to buy a newer style.

its a marketing trick. they update the product because they know people will buy the new one. its as simple as that
