LG launches 10,000:1 PC monitor in UK
LG has announced the world's first 10,000:1 Digital Fine Contrast ratio (DFC) PC monitor is now available in the UK. The monitor, dubbed the L197WH allegedly has the "greatest clarity available on a PC monitor today".

According to LG, the 19-inch full Widescreen monitor is powered by the "F-Engine", LG's picture enhancing Chipset. There is however, one small catch. The monitor is only set to 10,000:1 contrast ratio when the monitor is set to Movie Mode, "a pre-configured setting of the F-Engine."

"Ghosting, blurring and tearing are virtually removed as a result of the monitor's 2m/s grey-to-grey response time. In addition, the L197WH includes a dual hinge, height adjustment and a tilt design",
adds LG.

No word on street price or availability but we will keep you updated.

Yea, this looks like a kick ass LCD monitor.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Excellent for watching fast-action movies.

Dunno yet, I haven't found anything hinting a price. I bet it's going to be pretty pricey, wouldn't you imagine?

If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck!

I think a lot of people are going to be getting cramped up by leaning on their desk to look down on their monitor. ;-)

Hopefully you can leave it set to movie mode the whole time it is on. Gotta have a steep pricetag though.

If the screen is pre-locked in its settings then it is not exactly user friendly.
