Apple iPhone now out of stock in US and UK
Just two weeks after the device sold out in the UK, it seems the 1st generation Apple iPhone is now sold out in the US as well.

A quick search of the Apple website will show that the popular device is "Currently Unavailable" in both the 8GB and 16GB variations.

The news has generally sparked rumors that the upcoming 3G iPhone will be released in the next 30 days, giving it the June launch date that many have been predicting.

The speculation puts the launch of the 3G model at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in early June, a one year anniversary of the launch of the 1st generation of the device.

More updates as they become available.

I usually trust Afterdawn with my news but this is ridiculous. From now on, do some corroborating before posting news from another source. A simple lookup on attwireless, and i added an iphone 16GB to my cart. It's still available. I'm disappointed in Afterdawn.

But that find, nor yours, makes the article incorrect. The store referenced was the Apple Store. Since Apple is the maker of the phone, and phones are now unavailable from them, the phones have technically sold out. What stock is left at 3rd party stores will seemingly be unable to be replenished once they run out as well.

Although the headline alone does imply the conclusion you came to one should never get their news solely from headlines.

    ;-)
