LG now shipping Netflix-enabled HDTVs
LG has announced today they have begun shipping two new lines of HDTVs, TVs first announced during the CES event in January.

The LH50 line are LCDs and include a 42 and a 47-inch model. The high end LH50 will include integrated Netflix streaming, allowing users of the rental service to stream movies without the need for a set-top box such as Roku.

The second line, PS80, is of the plasma variety and includes a 50 and 60-inch model. Each of the plasmas will include integrated Netflix as well.

There was no pricing revealed on the sets.

Why? Netflix streaming movies are not even good enough for an SD-TV, let alone a 47-inch HD!

I find Netflix streaming to be good enough for certain kind of movies like documentaries and classics.

What most of us on afterdawn dont understand is that the average consumer does not care about the quality of movies as much as we do lol...
ofcourse on our standards netflix streaming quality it horrible but if your average consumer goes into the electronics store and the sales associate says yea this LG can Stream netflix directly from the internet trust me they leap right in.....i thought the same thing last year when i was selling the LG blu ray that streamed with the Samsung 9 Series LED TV's the consumer was blown away even after i told them the quality wasnt going to be that great.

I find that Netflix streaming is more than adequate for most of the selections they offer for streaming. If I need that picture quality I will watch the movie on disc.

At this point it's not really the quality but the technology that people are hyped about. If there is a net ready TV for the same as just a TV I will buy the one that connects online figuring firmware may improve the quality over time.
