According to AllthingsDigital, an internal memo leak within AT&T is showing off that the recent iPhone 3GS launch has led the company to its 'best ever sales day.'

The memo:

Here’s a look at some of the milestones we achieved:

They forgot to mention the title of "Most defective units sold in 1 day", sounds like they've managed to dethrone Microsoft's Xbox 360, and that is no mean feat!

there are lots of articles about apple, which is fine, but id like to see more articles about the new android phones coming out too.

the sony xperia, with a 1ghz cpu and 8mp camera, or how about the new archos phone/tablet being released in september with 500 gigs, 5 inch touchscreen, and 800mhz processor.

these will be huge releases. or even the recently released hero, that will be pretty huge too when it comes to the states.

Not sure which network will have the Hero when it is released here in North America but i do know AT&T has a Android phone to be released this year newer than the HTC Magic. Apple is really going to have some competition on their hands but i think regardless if a phone is better than the iphone that it is too late and too little for anyone else to dethrone them. Iphone has the popularity behind them now that will continue to push their sales regardless. Kinda like the motorolla razor did back in the day. It was a nice phone but also a fad and eventually everyone had one.

the new mytouch 3g wont be anything crazy, its basically a g1 without qwerty. the hero is pretty superior to the iphone even at first glance. i think it will attract kids with the cool factor just as much as the iphone, its just that no one knows about it.

the real reason android will take over is because they offer their interface onto more than one device and more than one company. every carrier will eventually have android phones, and you will see 20 new smartphones a year compared to 1 iphone. at least 3 out of 20 will be superior to the iphone. the growth will be exponential. as the system grows developers will code more applications. it already is a haven for devs, but it will become even more so, and since google doesnt deny applications like the apple does, the application store is much more user friendly and developer friendly. android is going on laptops, netbooks, tablets, phones, and whatever else. it will take beat iphone market share in less than 5 years.

Me? I wouldn't be caught dead with anything from Apple. Their products are mediocre at best, all they have going for them is a massive marketing campaign. But I guess it is "cool" to be a masochist and carry a phone that can't do some things that even bottom of the line Nokia (etc) phones can.
