PSPGo headed to UK on October 1st
Sony has told GI.biz today that the PSP Go will be finally headed to the UK on October 1st, launching with a retail price of GBP 224.99.

The handheld sells for $249 USD and EUR 249, which is what the the original "fat" version sold for in 2005, however the handheld is selling at a premium in the UK, where it originally sold for GBP 199.99.

Also beginning October 1st, and announced at GamesCom, Sony will be launching PSP Minis, small games (100MB and under), that looks like direct competition to Apple and iPhone App Store. Sony says their will be 50 titles available by the end of the year.

Additionally, the PSP will get a "Digital Reader" by December, that will allow users to read comic books on their handheld from Marvel.

All depands what you want ofcourse, but just 50euros cheaper than a PS3? I wouldent even think about getting one.
I have a PSP S&L got it just to see what is all about, but i got it for 170euros when ps3 was 660.

The UK always gets screwed when it comes to pricing. Fed up with it all to be honest. I was going to get one of these, but now I have seen the price I probably wont bother!

And the UK gets royally screwed for price again. This is just ridiculous $249 is approximately £153-£156 give or take. Just dont see why an extra £70 is added. Pointless.

I pre-ordered the PSP Go from Amazon for $250 (used trade-in promotional offer back in June, so it's $100 out of pocket). However, it is disturbing that for $50 more, you can get a PS3, shocking! The PS3 price drop made the PSP Go an expensive piece of *you know*. I'm in it because it's $100 for me, otherwise, i'll stick to my red slim PSP.

Why buy a PSPGo when you can buy a PS3 if you just dish out another £25?

The PSPGo is going to sell so bad if it doesn't get a price drop.

Yeap, totally agree with you... That's why i said disturbing! I pre-ordered the Go back in June, so the Slim PS3 was just rumor (i have a PS3 anyway). For people don't have a PSP or PS3, the price of PSP Go is atrociously high comparing to the $300 PS3.

so true. I think it'd take a fairly well off British consumer to match paying 200 quid for a shiny version of the same portable console. XD most people who want a PSP, have a PSP. PSPGo is an indication that Sony will never accommodate simple demands from the consumers i.e. additional analogue sticks for those FPS hungry gamers. But instead compete with the other companies to see who can produce the shiniest piece of rubbish.

For god sake gaming companies, stop messing around with new versions and work on a completely new portable games console! XD

The more I look at this stupid thing the more I realise the fony product dev team should be sacked.. there is the psp.. without doubt the best portable cinema you can put in your pocket bogged down with analog sticks and a umd drive which has no real use... why don't they make a touch screen psp mp4 player.. wow.. how to stuff apple eh?.. especially at £99 like it should be without all the other junk.
Trouble is.. they will still want you to buy their horrid media.. like their shite music artists and their boring films.. so drm will rule the day.. looks like we will have to wait for some independent company realising there is a market for this screen size in a portable mp4 player for some time yet.
