Steve Jobs is the "CEO of the Decade"

Steve Jobs is the CEO of the Decade
Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been named "CEO of the Decade" this month by Fortune magazine, mainly for the historic marks he has left in multiple industries.

Jobs, best known for being behind the company that created the Mac computer and the iPod media device, won the award after almost 25 years in the business.

Apple was founded in 1985 but Jobs was ousted from his position in the mid-90s. When he returned in 1997, the company's stock price had been deflated to $2. Today the stock stands at $188, about $15 off its all-time high despite a grueling global depression.

Jobs also purchased Pixar in 1986, and was behind helping the studio becoming an animation powerhouse unrivaled in the industry.

No, but Microsoft openly breaks the law in order to force users to buy from them...they have been in an out of antitrust courts so many times that they just keep lawyers on staff, and now commit crimes without concern.

I'm not sure I would call him the greedy bastard of the millennium...this millennium just started, and the last Millennium had Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin, plus countless bloodthristy kings and popes.

Come to think of it, I can say someting nice about Bill Gates: He is better than Hitler or Stalin.

Well, Gates DID praise the Mac. Most of what Gates did was get lucky (and had Mommy finance it)...if it weren't for companies like IBM and Digital Research, Microsoft might not have gone anywhere.

Some companies did try that, but MS kept stabbing them in the back and stealing their ideas for their own products.

    Netscape?

Micro$oft isn't the only one that can be accused of monopolization.
Or is it still legal to jailbreak your iPhone?

Why does everyone suck apple's pip?

All their hardware is jacked up in price despite using industry standard hardware. Hackentosh anyone?

Their platforms are locked down. (bootcamp is the exception)

Their software will only run on their devices.

Apple will allow windows to run on their x86 based computers but won't allow Mac OS to run on anything but a Mac.

    1. Apple's profit margins on hardware isn't much higher than other companies'.

    2. You can also install Linux on a Mac if you want.

    3. You apparently have no clue what you're talking about.

When mac used the X86 platform lets just say its the day Mac stopped being a Mac. Mac is no more a PC then the PC itself. the only difference is mac has all there hardware locked out. that way you can only buy an Nvidia that cost double its pc counter part.

Even though I hate Apple. I do believe Jobs deserved this. He is still moving his company ahead. Gates is just enjoying his wealth.

Both have truely altered the world we live in for the better. I like to give credit where credit is due. I do believe they are both crooks. But then who isn't? Only the ones not powerful enough to do anything like us aren't. If I could get billions of dollars to rape all of you... look out! Hey, I would do it for a cool billion.
