Hulu will be dead in two years, says Verizon CEO
Verizon Communications CEO Ivan Seidenberg has made some interesting statements in the past and his latest has attracted attention as well.

Seidenberg says that popular online video site Hulu will be gone in two years, as users move on to something new or technology changes.

"When you think of the change, look at Hulu and the dialogue and debate, and you say, O.K. this is in for the next eight to twelve months and in two years it won't matter because the world will have moved on," he said.

To back up his point that technology is evolving fast, he noted the "Sixth Sense" project which is a mini-projector in a cellphone that will allow users to watch video and TV on any surface, wherever and whenever they want.

I doubt it, I use Hulu at least 3 times a week to watch my favorite tv show...so I highly doubt it Verizon.

the only way hulu isn't around is if net neutrality dies, or if verizon pays the govt to shut them down.

Verizon isn't the only company that might pay the government to shut Hulu down...

Hulu is great as long as Hollywood backs off. Already I have to wait an entire week to watch one of my shows. Others I can watch near instantly.

To wait just a week is a massive improvement.

This is silly. Yes, eventually people won't want to watch TV on their big panels with home theater... oh, wait, really? I don't doubt that as the digital generations mature and the video generations die off there will be major shifts in viewing "acceptances" (to lower quality experiences, especially for disposable TV). But that ain't happening in two years.

hulu is a good example of the mess we're in. it is a great service, where the ads should be enough to pay for itself, but then the greed sets in. next, they'll want you to subscribe, but then neither drop the adds nor offer up more content. it is just sad. i would like to apply the same abilities of the 80s and 90s to nowadays but with better tech. i want to be able to record and archive what i subscribe to. i did it with cable and a vcr and i want that with what we have now. i should be able to dump full 1080p onto my computer and make my own blurays. there is nothing wrong with that. it is not stealing. i paid for it and just because the times change, they shouldn't be able to skew it in their favor.

hulu users r clueless! Dead is an understatement. Hulu quality is horrid. Virtually no HD and everything is on the netwrk's website. . . . . . . In HD
