Sony Reader adds new content

Sony has announced that owners of the Sony Reader e-reader device will have more content available to them via the Reader Store, including new magazine and newspaper subscriptions.

The New York Post and the Wall Street Journal will be available as subscriptions, and the Reader Daily Edition will get daily downloads from popular papers such as the Boston Globe, the International Herald Tribune, the New York Times and almost a dozen others.



Barron's and other magazines will arrive via the e-reader as they would if you had ordered a physical copy, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.

There was no word on price.

  LOL! Why pay for WSJ and NYT? Now that Murdoch in News Corp. has his hand all over this, will this actually help the sale of the Sony e-reader? Not that it matters, but here's my point: If he thinks that people will BUY his on-line publications, that people will buy this gadget, and read his "paid" news", then he is gravely mistaken. What the hell was this man thinking, that the American people where going to flock to his command, and pay for news? I know money sells, but damn, I hope that the majority of the American people are NOT that guillable to follow this!! - BLUEBOY

So yes, if they want the WSJ they will have to pay for it like everyone else.

  how many books can you purchase for the cost of this reader?
  
  btw can you give these books away to a library once you are finished with them or is this yet another move by Sony & other to destroy the second hand market?
