Wii finally to get Netflix streaming

Wii finally to get Netflix streaming
Beginning "in the Spring," Wii owners will finally get Netflix movie and TV streaming, the third console to receive the service.

To use Netflix, Wii owners will be sent a free disc that must be in the tray at all times, just like on the PlayStation 3. Xbox 360 owners can access the service without a special disc, but pay on average $50 a year for their XBL subscription. You must also be a Netflix subscriber, with a subscription that costs $9 USD or higher. The streaming is then free.

In the United States, Nintendo has sold over 25 million Wii units, making it the largest user base of the current generation of consoles.

Netflix has 17,000 shows and movies available via its "Watch Instantly" streaming program.

Curious. I already have this on two of my Samsung Blu-Ray players; difference is, I can get HD on the players (and so can PS3/360 users.) Not that Netflix is streaming a ton of HD content anyway... still good for Wii users that also have Netflix.

Great for them...the Wii finaly has a use (though it is still not as good as a much cheaper BD-Live player).

Also, why do people keep calling the wii a current-gen system? It is clearly last-gen in almost every regard. Sure, they are still making it...but sony is still making the PS2...and the PS2 is not a current-gen console. The f**king PSP is a better home-only console than the wii!

The PSP is terrible. I have a hacked one and it collects dust.

There. What we both said is an opinion.

Mine collects dust here and there. I can count how long it sits between major game releases, ie. Punch Out to New Super Mario Bros. However when I do play games it will be worth my time to do so.
