Apple to make Bing default search engine on iPhones?
According to PCWorld, Apple is in talks with Microsoft over Bing, which could become the default search engine for the iPhone in the near future.

The current default search engine for the iPhone and iPod Touch is Google.

Although the deal is nowhere near completed, Bing Maps may also replace Google Maps, and the Bing search engine would be default with all new firmware updates and new devices. Google could be reset as the default from within the software, however.

Seems that they did not like the idea of Google making a phone.

No, they just decided that the iPhone was not bad enough...so they want to make it worse.

    Sounds about right!
Or they're just sore losers feeling threatened by Google's expansion. What happens when MS comes out with their ZUne smartphone?

There's nothing wrong with Bing..nor the iPhone. I'm not understanding the dislike. If true it's nice to see Apple use something Microsoft related.

As long as I can default back to google, then I don't mind so much. If I were forced to then there would be problems.

BING, the search engine you use to google without google! And then you realize that google is better and you go back to using goody google!

Seriously, I have my site submitted to both search engines, but Bing is just as slow in indexing my site as bong. Google on the other hand, is a quick bang when it comes to indexing.

= Bing sucks, you're more likely to find what you're searching for with Google, and no fake bing googling.

Apple rightly fears Google. M$ is nothing to fear. The Zune smart phone will likely follow in the foot steps of the Zune.

fgamer Maybe I didn't give Bing enough of a chance. I used it a few times for simple searches with total failure to find what I wanted. Maybe I should have wasted my time for a billion failed searches to give it more of a chance. Maybe I ought to eat garbage to see if I now like it. The M$ suits need to be roasted over an open fire.

With the added Xvid playback, I actually think Zune(HD) is one of the better video players available.
