BenQ releases 'world’s slimmest' LED monitor

BenQ releases 'world’s slimmest' LED monitor
BenQ has introduced the world's thinnest 21.5” W LED monitor, which promises "top of the line" performance as well.

Dubbed the BenQ V2220/V2220H, the 15mm-thick monitor has a 10,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and offers Full HD 1080p playback.

DeviceMag adds that "the LED monitor has been designed in such a way that it possesses the ability to reveal detail in darkly lit areas of the screen rendered as undifferentiated blocks on less capable displays."

The monitor is also considered "green," given that it cuts down power consumption by 28.6 percent compared to CCFL models.

Wonder what the price is on this sucker? Another question: Some LED LCD TVs are NOT true LED LCD TVs, and the reason being, at least from a source I read, is that some of the LED LCD TVs have only LEDs around the outer rim of the back lighting of the TV, there by giving a false presumption that it is a true LED LCD TV, which has LEDs throughout the back lighting panel. Some genius marketing scheme planned from some companies to take more money out of your wallets. I don't know how true this is, but you can bet that somebody somewhere will take advantage of this to burn needless money from us consumers. - BLUEBOY

They sell LCD displays with LED back-lighting. This technology was around years before LED displays hit mainstream. I dont think its a marketing ploy, just people are uneducated on the difference.
