New Barbie doll includes video camera and LCD screen

New Barbie doll includes video camera and LCD screen
At the Toy Fair 2010, Mattel has seemingly brought the ever-popular Barbie into the 21st century, with the introduction of the Barbie Video Girl Doll.

The doll has a video camera built-in to her necklace, and an LCD video screen in her back, allowing you to record and see everything the Barbie has seen.

Barbie has a USB port in her back as well, so you can plug her in, and playback the video on a computer or TV. You can record up to 30 minutes of video and later edit it at Barbie.com.

The doll costs $50 USD and will be available in toy stores starting in July.

Great, now all the little girls will start feeling inadequate because they don't have TV screens build into their backs, cameras built into their necks and USB cords sticking out their butts. A whole new form of augmentation surgery will develop...

if you ever meet a chick in a bar and get invited back to her place for coffee be sure to check her room for barbies before getting down to business. dont assume its just a toy from her childhood that carries sentimental meaning. ha ha ha

another thought tho, how long is it gonna be before child molesters find a use for these things and start handing them out to small children?

From the sound of it, you need to connected with USB to get the video back, and the recording time isn't long enough for a woman to turn on before she goes out in order to record sex later (this actualy sounds more like something a man would do).

The only worrysome part is that you have to edit the video at barbie.com ... that means the sickos at Matel might have access to the videos.

Yeah, I really don't think it's a good idea giving children a video camera.

The episode of South Park comes to mind where there is a Paris Hilton Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset made for kids to reenact scenes from Hilton's sex tape.

Collector's get ready, 'cause this Barbie won't be in production for long.

Yeah, give a little girl a video camera. Files are edited on a website. How long til privacy/child protection groups get involved and say what Moomoo2 and a lot of us are thinking: WTF!?!?

I hope that there is no possible way for anyone else at Mattel to see the videos, if so, I don't see this lasting for very long. And we all know, if there is unencrypted traffic on a network, it can be seen, regardless of what they say. Encrypted traffic can still be seen, but not as easy...
