Nintendo DS R4 flash cart now illegal in Australia
RSJ IT Solutions of Australia has lost a lawsuit to Nintendo today, and will have to pay the gaming company $520,000 in damages for selling the R4 flash cart, a device used to run homebrew on the Nintendo DS handheld.

Along with the fine, Nintendo has won an injunction forcing the company to cease sales of the device via any site it owns, most notably gadgetgear.com.au.

Additionally, the two owners of the site are banned from selling the devices anywhere in Australia. Both must identify the suppliers from where they purchased the R4 carts, which will likely lead to more lawsuits from Nintendo.

Despite the legal uses of the R4 flash cart, it also allows for easy playback of pirated games, which is why Nintendo has filed over a dozen lawsuits in many different countries trying to stop sellers and importers of the device.

You're all *bleep*in the head. Nintendo still has great games. There is more to a game than killing things after all you idiots. Scribblenaughts uses a unique ability to wright practically any noun and make that same object appear to use as you wish. the game itself had no story line obviously but the game play was amazing and fun to play around with figuring out what items did what and how to use them together right.

You think thats the reason behind their crumby sales? NO its the release of that shitty system known as the DSI that made their sales go down. The price of the new system is the same as their older DS lite yet it adds nothing you really need and it takes away something you would want to keep. Camera? only one game uses it just like the GBA Camera bs they made in the 90s then theres the MP3 ability guess what? most people who HAVE a ds? OWN AN IPOD or something like that. The only thing they ADDED that you may want is the SD Slot but guess what? thats only if you wish to Download the whole god dam game which just means they released their own version of theDS R4 legally.

the only thing besides the new games that made the DS worthwhile was its ability to play all GBA games. Pokemon where it is now cant be fully played with out the older GBA pokemon games. and NOW after all this time with the dsi out they play to release sole silver and heart gold most likely with the GBA ability as well but lookie here they dont make the DS Lite as much as the DSI NOW. OH AND TO TOP IT OFF THEY RELEASED A GUITAR HERO GAME FOR THE DS RIGHT AFTER THE DSI RELEASED AND IT NEEDS THE GBA SLOT TO PLAY IT. they *bleep* them self over with their flawless ability to have BAD TIMING with their moves. NOT bad games you *bleep* idiots.

    ^LOL so angry..

I think that piracy does a lot more to the DS than any other gaming system, since its so easy. True, theres a lot of poor games, but there are also a lot of great games. Theres no way to limit the multiplayer experience using wifi like PC games do with online multiplayer.

Hehe...scrible-NOTs? No thanks; that is the game I will think of if I ever feel tempted to by a Nintendo product ever again. I would not play it if Nintendo sent me a free copy with a free DS.

I might at least try the GTA game (if it was 100% free)...but I know I would not enjoy it enough to finish it...and it is probably the best game on the platform.
