Apple building 5 million iPads in first half of 2010

Apple building 5 million iPads in first half of 2010
According to FBR Capital analyst Craig Berger, Apple is prepared to build 5 million iPads for the first half of 2010, a higher estimate then most previous analysis.

Says Berger in an investment note: "We believe various news articles and competitor notes calling for a build delay were just false alarms."

Additionally, Berger gave estimates for other Apple devices, including iPods and Mac notebooks.

The analyst expects builds of 9.3 million iPods for the March quarter, 1.7 million notebooks and 1 million desktops.

The iPad has an April 3rd release date for models with only Wi-Fi support. 3G versions are expected in the coming months.

Pretty optimistic for a DRM crippled, overpriced, bigger ipod touch. But hey who knows, stranger things have happened.

If apple released a pile of cow dung molded into their logo, they could sell 5 million...apple fans don't care about anything but the logo.

There are masses of numbskulls who bought into the whole iPod thing that will buy this product.
I'm keen to know what it can do that my N97 mobile phone cant (besides nickle and dime me to death). It has a bigger screen but is also unpractical to carry around, may as well just get a laptop.

Looking forward to seeing what they slap an i on next.

A funny thing happened to me the other day. I ran into a Mac fanboy and even though he had a Mac laptop (newer model) he said he still was going to buy this thing. That's sheep talk and there's at least a million sheep gonna buy these, I think. We'll see though.

Fanboys are too passionate for my taste. It's like they shun even thinking that another option might be better.

After reading what the iPad can and can't do, sorry Apple, that's not the product i want at the price i want to pay. Perhaps, if it's $200-$300, I might consider it (I really need a portable photo album, touch screen of course, that's why Netbooks or Laptops are not good enough).

One of the AD member posted a similar iPad toy, the iTablet, but i don't know what's the status on that one...

Good for you, but oh i have used the iPod Touch and let me tell you... It's quite crappy for surfing the internet or watch YouTube videos. The loading time is horrible and it constantly load the same video even though i just watched it and want to watch it again. What's strange is that sometimes it told me the video can't be played, but clearly it played few times before...

The Blu-ray version of High School Musical came with a digital version. I redeemed the code in iTune and I was able to play the video on the PC, but after transfer it to the Touch, it can't be played :(

The only good thing about the Touch is that it allows me to check e-mails with efficiency in multiple languages, thumbs up in that department.
