Multi-tasking coming with iPhone OS 4.0?
According to AppleInsider, multi-tasking may be the headlining feature of the upcoming iPhone OS 4.0, giving millions of users their biggest demand.

Multi-tasking will allow for apps to run concurrently in the background, although it is unclear how many apps will be able to run at once.

The news comes from sources with "proven track records" in predicting upcoming Apple updates, says AI, and the sources say that Apple has "developed a full-on solution" to multi-tasking, although it is unclear how battery life will be affected.

The iPhone 4.0 OS is expected to be released in June at the earliest.

The apple commercials on TV right now, might lead one to believe that multitasking is already in place. Huh.

Man sometimes afterdawn is just late with their news. You this was suppose be possible a long time ago. Oh and @ llongtheD I noticed that as well in the commercials with is deception making it look as if it does have that ability without really saying it so customers would think it without it be directly said.

Oh and stuntman I think having a iphone and not jailbreaking it is keeping yourself inside a little box. Do no what your missing if u dont jailbreak it.

Huh.was just wandering what u saw that would give the impression that the iPhone can multitask already in the commercials? The only things I saw are accessing some of the apps and features while in a call but other than that, there is no multitasking present in the commercials. Maybe there is a new commercial I havenot seen yet or something. The iPhone can play iPod while running other apps but I hate that pandora's music stops when you close the app. My jailbroken iPhone fixes that issue with multitasking though.

I think that a lot of the things that jailbroken iPhones are capable of doing already will be added into the new update 4.0 when it is released bc these are some features that apple is aware that people desire. Maybe they will make pictures viewable in the phone book list like with CYNTACT or finally enable tethering. They need to fix the iPod player bc you can't access the equalizer settings while listening to the music in iPod mode. Downloading files in safari is nice. Ability to access files like IFILE would be great. Flash support would be a dandy. Also you don't have the ability to rename your Bluetooth devices from iPhone as I was able to do with other phones. Comes in handy bc I have two identical jabra headset that I use to name differently using one to listen to music at work and another charged for talking. Jabra bt8040 is so small and I have to have music while I'm at work. Would be nice to release a add on attachment allowing iPhone to have extended battery life and a true controller pad for gaming The iPhone could really make a dent in the handheld videogaming industry with better controlls bc touchscreen control for gaming is not as precise and accurate. Well mayb dreams do come true someday.

I am going to ask if either of them can prove it. So can you?
