Launch day iPads sold out

Launch day iPads sold out
According to a new Reuters update, launch day Apple iPads may be already sold out, with customers who pre-order now not receiving their tablet device until April 12th, 9 days after launch.

Taiwanese parts makers have placed initial estimates on iPads available at launch at around 300,000, and the WSJ said earlier in the week that at least 200,000 have already been pre-ordered so it appears that Apple may already be having supply issues for the huge demand.

The iPad, available in a few different options, with prices ranging from $500 to $800, is Apple's biggest launch since the iPhone in 2007 and certainly has gigantic hype.

NPD reports that 25 percent of all 18-to-34-year olds surveyed want to purchase an iPad, with those consumers with $100,000 or greater income also seeing high percentages.

He wanted to know if you thought people who spent $40k-$50k to get a car with all the bells and whistles above and beyond basic usage were idiots. Correct me if I'm wrong xnonsuchx.

Why is it that whenever Apple launches something, people buy it in drobes?

If Apple charged $1,000 for this thing, people will still have bought this in drobes.

    I don't get it.

How can you buy something without even seeing it or even read a review? Crazy stuff

Yeah but in most cases you get extra features for that 40 - 50K when it comes to performance, luxury, and safety. I mean I opted to purchase the $25,000 version of my car because it had the turbocharged engine and luxury items like power windows, sunroof, better sound system, etc... The $500 - $800+ iPad does less than most netbooks at $250 - $400. Aside from the touch screen it has no real reason to be that expensive other than it has the Apple logo on it.

People buy anything with the apple logo on it because they know they are getting top notch quality.

The Ipad is not overpriced. The Iphone is overpriced seeing how a 32 iphone cost close to $800.

I used to frown on apple products before, but after using a macbook pro, I believe that apple raises the bar every time they come out with something new.

Hey believe what you want to believe. As a owner of Apple Products (iPhone and Intel Based Macbook) and a supporter of them in technology (100's of iMacs and MacServer) I see no evidence of superior quality. High Quality yes, but there are other manufacturers that offer similar or higher quality for less.

Apples got CONTROL over their consumers, unknown to most other big companies. I don't understand why though either !!!! People are just sheep, I guess
