Hyundai to include iPad with owner's manual with purchase of Equus sedan
Hyundai has announced that all new buyers of the Equus luxury sedan will receive an Apple iPad, one that comes pre-loaded with a digital version of the car's owner's manual.

The tablet will also have a pre-loaded Hyundai app which will make service appointments easier.

Mike Bloxham, director of insight and research at Ball State University's Center for Media Design says: "They are trying to position themselves as a modern, in-touch, technologically savvy brand. It is the sort of innovation you would expect from BMW or Mercedes, but not Hyundai."

Hyundai is known for ultra-budget cars but will try to steal some luxury market share from competitors such as Lexus and Mercedes-Benz. The Equus will sell for around $55,000 USD, a far cry from some of Hyundai's budget cars like the Accent which sells for $10,000.

Who in the world world be willing to pay for $55k Hyundai. With that kind of money I would rather buy a new Lexus/Mercedes for much cheaper.

Innovative, I say. When more manufactures of vehicles catch on, it may become more commonplace. A plus is it will be used, albeit for other reading material, but it is innovative and a good idea. Hyundai may start working down it's vehicle range to less expensive models. Of course, it will be built into the price, but volume orders may reduce their buying price, and Hyundai may pass on the savings.

and if you want a Hyundai and an iPad get the accent and then buy an iPad $10,500 but no Hyundai app lol

EDIT: and why sell it with a car when you wont be using it in your car while driving

Not bad price point for them. VW was trying to sell a $70k car and that was nuts. Look at Buick trying to step up. I like the idea of the I-pad and scheduling with the dealers, but I foresee the independent shops following suit.

Have you even looked at the specs. It blows away the S550 which costs a mere $95k. Hyundai isn't targeting morons show they will be very happy you stay away from the car.

110k,more or less a house or an apartment price

Yeah and you could just go around and say I just spend 55K on that Hyundai and people will look at you and say what a f*cking moron.

Wow, israel sounds like it sucks. You've got people fighting with each other over religion or some crap like that and expensive cars too.

LOL...obviously you haven't paid attention to Hyundai of late! Not only will this car cost about $30k LESS than it's competitors, it'll be better equipped! The Genesis sedan has been a HUGE sales success for Hyundai...and this will be as well!
Great Job Hyundai, keep it up!
