'Windows Phone 7 Series' gets small name change

'Windows Phone 7 Series' gets small name change
Since the launch of their latest mobile OS in February, Microsoft has fielded criticism over the name, Windows Phone 7 Series.

Most complaints were over the fact that the name is overly long, and that it not the easiest phrase to say.

Microsoft has listened and decided to slightly change the name, and the Windows Phone team has Tweeted about it.

Says the Tweet: "Tis the season for Series finales. We've got one too - dropping the ‘Series’ and keeping the 'Windows Phone 7.' Done."

Most reporters had dropped the "Series" already anyways, but now it appears to be official.

Never heard those complaints. I guess I don't follow this closely enough. Most of the complaints I've heard were more UI-related.

We all know it will become abbreviated to an easier on that rolls of the tongue, we all try to find an easier way of a complicated name, just like Micky D's, etc.It take a little time, but it will happen.

I figure people will just call it a Windows 7 phone. I like how it looks though. Pretty nice.

Either way, other countries will shorten the name to suit their own ways of pronouncing it in their own language.

They will probably call it the "WinPho"

I always thougt it was a Win Phone running WinMobile 7

Unfortunately for them, all Blu-ray protections have been broken and BD rips can be found around the Internet, usually before the retail even hits shelves.

Microsoft put more emphasis on naming a product than writing code for a product.
