RLSLOG taken offline after complaint from UMG
RLSLOG, the most popular torrent release news site, has been taken down this week after its hosting company received a takedown request from Universal Music Group.

The site says it is moving to a new host, as it does not, and will not ever host copyrighted material.

Regulars of the site were greeted with this message: "RLSLOG.net was suspended by its German hosting company after removal request from law firm representing Universal Music, although we never hosted any files or copyrighted data on our server. Our site is strictly informative."

TF interviewed the founder of the site that said the site was not given any prior notice before being taken down, and apologized for the downtime.

Last year Google took action to filter some of RLSLOG'S pages from its search engine results, after complaints were filed by copyright holders.

So now it's illegal just to talk about copyrighted material?

    Future torrent conversation:
"Shhh... don't tell... but you know that thing? Yeah? Well that thing is available at that place... No, not that place... the other place. It's got all the stuff and things too!"

Unfortunately for them, all Blu-ray protections have been broken and BD rips can be found around the Internet, usually before the retail even hits shelves.

Apparently, URLs & MetaData are now grounds for site-removal, laws00ts, etc.

    Sad times...

RLSLOG has nothing to do with torrents. It's a site that tracks Scene releases and posts direct-download links to the corresponding files hosted on various platforms ( rapidshare, megaupload, netload, megashare, depositfiles, you name it...). files which of course are all in violation of copyright legislation.

I want to thank them for putting RLSlog in the news. I had never heard of them but that is an awesome site! I'm glad I found it, thanks to them being in the news!

There are plenty of sites at least as good or better than RLSLog...RlsLog is actually shite, ...Scenereleases, OneDDL,tehparadox, irfree, tinydl, megauploadforum(just to mention a few of the ones bookmarked on my page)...The only way of taking every single one down is by going back in time and make it so the Internet was never invented...
