iPhone OS 4 to have 720p video recording support

iPhone OS 4 to have 720p video recording support
According to some digging by MacRumors, the iPhone OS 4 should allow for 720p video recording support, including video capture, editing and conferencing.

The latest beta SDK shows the update, which allows for a much higher resolution than currently available (640x480).

Macrumors shows the new preset values found in the SDK, which read:

AVCaptureSessionPreset640x480
AVCaptureSessionPreset1280x720

The upcoming iPhone 4G/HD will have a 5MP camera, but it was unclear what kind of video capabilities the hardware was capable of.

The new phone is expected to launch in late June.

Don't be fooled by the numbers....it will be a file that looks worse than a 30 year old video tape.

Not to mention the huge file size, along with shorter battery life, and no support for an external microSD card.

The iPhone will be the same but a little sharper because of a higher resolution, don't over-exaggerate because you dislike a company.

The reason I think the quality will be crap is because Apple stole the camera for the iPhone from Kodak, and my Kodak shoots 720P as well...and it even shoots in an Apple video format. Plus, my camera is a better unit than the one that apple stole (shoots very nice 10MP stills).

I also have a droid, and the quality of 480P on the droid is better than the video quality of 720P on the Kodak. Maybe because it isn't using a crummy file format, or maybe it is just a better video cam (but the still cam is so bad, I can't believe that the camera is better in any way).
