AT&T confirms iPhone 4G for June

AT&T confirms iPhone 4G for June
BoyGeniusReports has posted a small blurb today saying that AT&T has confirmed to its store managers that the Apple iPhone 4G will launch in June.

The site even says that the phone will be ready in early June, meaning the launch could be imminent in the next two weeks.

New to the 4G are a front-facing camera for video conferencing, a better standard camera (including larger lens and flash), a Micro-SIM slot (just like the iPad), 960x640 resolution, a second mic, metallic exterior (not plastic) and split side buttons for volume.

The form factor is very different as well. The back is flat and not rounded, slightly smaller screen, a more "square" design all around with less wasted space, a larger battery, and smaller internal components.

Wal-Mart announced this week that it is slashing the price of the iPhone 3GS in half, with the 16GB 3GS model going on sale for $97 USD with two-year contract. The smartphone currently costs $199 through Apple. The move has led many to believe that Wal-Mart is clearing out remaining stock in anticipation of the new iPhone launch.

Since AT&T and Apple had a 5-year exclusivity agreement, no other carriers will have new iPhones until 2012. That is, unless the agreement included 'outs' for Apple if AT&T didn't live up to certain expectations or otherwise being able to back out of the deal. One possibility also mentioned is that AT&T would keep exclusivity of the current model, but that other (GSM) carriers might be allowed to supply older models before the end of the agreement.

Don't support a company where the factory working conditions are so inhuman that some workers commit suicide. New workers have to sign a pledge that they won't commit suicide, rather than change the working conditions.

    *double sigh*

why do people call fans of apple zealots, but you don't see apple enthusiasts calling android lovers any names.

Android has the POTENTIAL to be better, but for me the UI of the Iphone OS is more fluid.

Yes, Android does have a few features which are hot... Multitasking, easy free Tethering, better google integration, and personalization.

However, for my needs, such as accessing all my mailboxes / calendars / todo tasks from my phone, the Iphone just works.

Even an independent review site compared the Droid Incredible vs the Iphone 3GS, and the Incredible only beat the 3GS by .2 points. (That's with the Incredible with more memory and better cpu)

People hate the iPhone just because it's an Apple product. They will look for everything they can find to drive the point home. The truth is the iPhone kicks all their asses and that just pisses the haters off more and more. I've tried them all and none compare to the feel of the iPhone. Even if it is missing features there is nothing else out there that compares to the feel of the iPhone. Plain and simple. Don't get me wrong, I think Apple is the most evil company out there. Even worse than Microsoft. But the same way i give the evil oil corporations my money for gas and oil, I will give apple a little of my money every 3 years or so to get the new iPhone. Because nothing else compares to the feel of an iPhone.

    Edit:
I thought that use of the word "fanboy" was not allowed here anymore.

i know walmart is getting away like a bandit on iphone sales right now since they lowered the 16GB 3GS to 97 bucks a couple of days ago. and then anybody who bought it is going to be flipping out when the new one comes out and they can't get it because i think walmart has a 14 day return policy lol.

It is really amazing. Wow we are really concerned for the people of China. Do you make such an ordeal as to where your shoes, clothes, tires, almost anything electronic used in your house? What about your personal computer, everything except the dollar sign in the price comes from that deplorable country. Take a look around at what you have before slamming a single item. Also, if you have any children, take a look at what they are using. MADE IN USA, yeah right. The box that it came in is probably Made in Mexico and assembled in the good ole USA.

Also, there are more workers in the United States that kill themselves, sometimes their families along with them.

Before ending. Yes I do have an iPhone and and HTC. The only real benefit to the HTC is the picture quality of the camera. That really helps when I want to take pictures of those killing themselves because of their jobs.

The Droid phones and the I phone are similar in price. It is just a preferance...
