MetroPCS gets first Android device

MetroPCS gets first Android device
AndroidGuys has reported today on the first sighting of MetroPCS' first-ever Android smartphone offering.

The device is unnamed, so far, but looks similar to the Motorola Cliq, and the source has four images.

Motorola's upcoming device will run on Android 2.1, have a MOTOBLUR UI layer and have a 600MHz CPU.

It will also have a full slide-out QWERTY keypad and a 3.2MP camera.

Oddly out of place is a giant "Home" button surrounded by a purple circle. It is unclear what the circle's use is.

MetroPCS offers a $50 unlimited voice, text and data plan, the cheapest in the industry.

I heard that it has the same processor that the droid uses so does that mean that the droid is useless as well? I know the network isn't as good as other carriers but for the price you pay its a really good deal. its an android phone so it does everything other basic android phones are capable of.

mehh.. Boost just came out with an andriod, it will be running on sprints 3G network, 50 dollars gives you everything (web, pix, text) but you get a bonus feature unlimited walkie talkie.. THATS the cheapest in the industry, not to mention boost is on the 3G network and metroPCS is not. (>.<)

Boost also shares their network with sprint, nextel and virgin mobile customers. Metro uses their own towers. So while us metro users are making calls on our android phones, you boost customers can please hold while the subscriber your trying to reach is located!!!! LMAO

More likely, boost customers will be on the sprint network, and metro customers will be trying to connect.
