Microsoft Kinect officially priced at $150

Microsoft Kinect officially priced at $150
Following a week of speculation as to its price, Microsoft has officially priced the Kinect motion control system for the Xbox 360 at $150 USD.

Last Tuesday, GameStop put the system on sale for $150 USD while also offering up a bundle with an Arcade console and Kinect for $299.99 and an Elite console with Kinect for $399.99.

Later in the week, more retailers followed suit, with Amazon, Best Buy and Wal-Mart offering the system for $150, as well.

At the point, Microsoft had still not officially outed the price for the system.

There is still no word on when the device will ship, but speculation has the launch date as November 4th.

150$..quite a premium for an emerging technoogy that barely proved itself with reports from kotaku showing lagginess lack of support for core games and alot of cloak-and-dagger reports that developements like project milo were swepped under the rug.

Wow, $150 is too much don't you think? You can buy another Xbox 360 with that money... I'm interested, but you know what, i'll wait for sales or maybe clearance, lol.

    Peace!

I was going to get this until I heard the price a couple weeks ago. Plus I rather wait for a smaller or cheaper version because you know they will make a smaller version device. That price is way too much and the economy is not in good shape to fork over $150 just for something that I can do on my Nintendo Wii balance board.

If it cost between $65-$90 then I might be interested but honestly this is more for kids or fat kids to get off the couch. Us real gamers are not going to put down our joysticks for this device to play games like Halo, Modern Warfare, Call of Duty, etc., because it will never be active or fast response time of what a joystick can do.

if they want to reach families and kids (not hardcore gamers) $150 is too much! Getting a new console plus $150 of this is too much...microsoft is doing it bad AGAIN!
