4GB Xbox 360 Arcade seen on Amazon

4GB Xbox 360 Arcade seen on Amazon
Amazon's German-language site has posted an Xbox 360 4GB Arcade bundle today for pre-order, a unit that is likely the cheaper slim hardware that Microsoft promised last month.

The 4GB means the system will include that amount of storage, likely as a USB flash drive or built-in NVRAM.

Microsoft's current Xbox Arcade model only has 512MB of NVRAM.

Amazon's listed system is priced at €148.99 (about $190 USD), which will make it the cheapest Xbox 360 console to date.

There is also the addition of "bundle" into the name, which means there is the possibility of a game bundled, or at least some Xbox Arcade credit.

The e-tailer has the street date listed as August 20th, 2010, which is during the Gamescom 2010 event.

Great, at last the migration to all Xboxes having a fair sized memory begins (and Microsoft say all the other peripherals, excepting the old style memory cards & hard drives will work with the new slim).
That means not only a very quiet Xbox but 2 x 16gb of flash storage on top of the 4gb built in.
The digital distribution age can begin.

Until lobbying is a hanging offense I choose anarchy!
Ah modern gaming its like modern film only the watering down of fiction and characters is replaced with shallow and watered down mechanics, gimmicks and shiny-er "people".

So does the new XBox have a removable HDD? I bought 2 arcades then added HDDs later. Is that still an option?

Nope, at least what they are saying, just on-board flash memory at this time, but who knows, a lot can change by August or even beyond, right?

Of course the new 360 has a removable hard drive. A simple Google search would have shown you in a matter of seconds.

Is 4 gigs enough... meh. I guess it depends on what type of gamer you are. The Arcade will be more than enough for those who are casual gamers, meaning those who only play a game ever other month and don't feel the need for dlc.
