HP discontinues development of Android tablet?
The latest rumor today circulating the Internet is that HP has discontinued development of its Android tablet, instead moving all those resources towards its WebOS tablets.

Says AllthingsD: "Sources in position to know tell me that HP's Android slate has been delayed and won't ship before the end of the year as planned."

While that could mean the tablet simply is just delayed, most likely HP has scrapped it.

Futhermore, the site says LG has abandoned their Windows 7 tablet in favor of an Android model.

Says an LG source: "The Windows 7 tablet was always sort of a concept exercise and should never have gone public at Microsoft's stand at Computex. As you can imagine, Microsoft was very eager to show off this device even though it has never been green-lighted for production at LG."

Earlier in the year, HP scrapped plans for the Windows 7 tablet dubbed "Slate."

Wow...it isn't looking good for windows in the mobile realm!

On the other hand, the LG tablet might be very interesting...something tells me it might have a dual core 1.2GHZ CPU, matched with a LG display.

So the new thing is Andriod in, Windows out? Very interesting indeed. Microsoft definitely needs to pay attention to this.

Personally i think this sucks. im not such a mobile person so personally i dont mind my tablety being a 2-3 hours of battery life short. and id much prefer the functionality of a full windows 7 than that of a mobile phone OS like Android which was never designed for this purpose in the first place.

If you want a windows 7 tablet, then just buy a tablet PC. The goal of these devices is long battery life, instant booting, and extreme ease of use.

No wonder its hard to find drivers for their old HP tablet machines like the one i currently am using it took me 2 months to find my drivers and thats only because of Driver Genius.
