HP confirms WebOS tablet for 'early 2011'
HP, speaking during their Q3 earnings conference call, have confirmed a WebOS-based tablet for 2011.

Furthermore, the company promised a Windows 7 tablet, as well.

Says Todd Bradley, of HP's Personal Systems Group: "You'll see us with a Microsoft product in the near future, and a WebOS-based product in early 2011."

HP acquired Palm, including all their patents and the WebOS mobile operating system in April for $1.2 billion USD.

After the acquisition, it was unclear if HP would continue their long-standing partnership with Microsoft, and it is apparent today that they will.

HP's WebOS tablet should be a direct competitor to Apple's popular iPad, as well a plethora of upcoming Android-based tablets.

LoL...For HP's sake, I hope they do not try to compete with that market!

They HAVE to announce that it will be available in Windows version.

I remember when Compaq first announced iPaq pda. M$ got so wild that it was an "Only Linux" device. Compaq was arm twisted into dropping Linux and switch to Windows CE burning the proverbial midnight oil.
