Android 4.0 dubbed 'Ice Cream'

Android 4.0 dubbed 'Ice Cream'
ARM president Tudor Brown has revealed the earliest detail of Android 4.0, which has been dubbed Ice Cream by Google.

Android 3.0 Gingerbread has still not been officially launched by Google, but the company has said it will have a 2010 release.

Following Gingerbread is Honeycomb, which will likely be 3.1 or 3.5.

Forbes notes that Brown's position at ARM would make him privy to Android's long term roadmap, as ARM processor technologies are used in 95 percent of the world's mobile phones.

There have been no official details on features coming with Gingerbread, Honeycomb or Ice Cream.

Ice Cream has a tentative Q2 2011 launch date.

This is nice and all, but they really need to find a way to push updates faster to the general public. In mean come on, 6 months on certain phones to get 2.1 to 2.2 is absolutely ridiculous. There's got to be a better way besides manually updating your phone.

NHS2008, edit your sig to conform to forum specs ASAP. yours is 300x135 pixels & 2 lines of text.
    4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

Windows Phone 7 has been a huge disapointment for me, especially since I live in canada. The only good WP7 (samsung focus) is exlcusive to rogers, and they MAKE you buy a data plan. I just want a voice plan, if I want the internet i'll use wi-fi. Plus almost all WP7 launch devices have low memory, and no micro-sd slot. It doesn't help either that Canada has the highest phone rates. It's like our Canucks, they suck ass, are cocky as hell, have never won the Cup, and we have the most expensive tickets in the NHL. Screw you Canada, and Andriod here I come.
