Verizon to announce iPhone launch on November 9th?
TUAW has posted a picture today that has lead to speculation that Verizon will announce the much-anticipated launch of the CDMA iPhone on November 9th.

Verizon has been adding service staff in the last month, with TUAW speculating that the carrier has doubled its service staff "assigned to handle number porting requests."

There would be little reason for Verizon to add so much staff if not expecting a lot of users to port from other carriers.

The picture shows a training notice sent out to customer service staff describing an upcoming "iconic device" that will go on pre-order starting November 9th.

TUAW does note that the Motorola Droid Pro has been given the same "Iconic Device" tag, so the validity of the rumor is still up in the air.

Could make for an interesting Tuesday.

TUAW should also be mentioned as totally unprofessional. Ripten.com reported this first and TUAW photoshopped their watermark off and claimed the story as theirs.

Don't believe it. I work for VZW and we have no such training.

This isn't gonna sell like many believe.

Reason: Who is going to pop the massive up-charge to simply convert from a relatively new phone like a Droid2 or X that they just re-upped a contract for an IPhone?? Besides, Verizon's shady practices still have them at 30/month for internet service where AT&T has tiered theirs........a smart move.

All in all, people aren't going to pay a premium price for an IPhone after having just upgraded and on another note, it's CDMA on Verizon AND SPRINT so the same problem will occur for jailbreaking this to be used on Sprint just like it was to be used on T-Mobile.

There are 50 million users or some ungodly number. Your argument here is that no one will pay to upgrade to this phone when they have the droid x or " ".

All of the users, not even half of the users have upgraded yet so many users will be available to purchase the Iphone. You have to remember, not every one gets a phone every 1 or 2 years. I haven' had a new Verizon phone since 2007'.

    This is superman
