Video Daily: New Microsoft ad takes shot at Mac's lack of Blu-ray
Microsoft's latest ad takes a shot at Macs, and most notably their lack of Blu-ray support.

The commercial, which is all animated, shows two notebooks (a PC and a Mac) flying on an airplane. The PC begins playing Avatar, on Blu-ray and the awestruck Mac asks what it is.

""Oh it's Blu-Ray, it's built in -- you want to watch?" responds the Windows machine.

Taking an extra shot at Macs and their aluminum casing, a stewardess walks by asking if the Mac "needs a dusting."

It's a short commercial and very well made. Worth the watch:

I agree. One of the reasons I went with PS3. 360 is a nice unit. But for me to sell the idea to the wife, I brought out all the stops and Blu-Ray is one of them.

360 will never have Blu-Ray as they will then have to pay Sony (and Toshiba) roylaties for the privilege of using it.

It really is a great point they are making...people seem to think that Macs are good for video, so they just assume they would have bluray (at least as an option). This borders on public service.

Just because he doesn't like the technologies that means the customer has to suffer, the guy just doesn't care about his customers.

Flash on Macs suck. Fix that before BluRay.

    Work side-by-side with adobe? No
Fix the problems with their OS? No
Fix the problems with their browser? No
Completely block flash support? Yeah...that sounds about right.

Don't ask apple to "fix" anything; they will just remove it...then they will say that they removed it because no one used it, and because all their customers are having lots of problems because they use it so much.

BTW...Microsoft has painted themselves into a corner on the whole BluRay thing...they spent the last 7 years saying that it would never catch on. Regardless of the facts and what everyone can see, they will not admit that they are wrong about this...just killing off the external HD-DVD drive probably took an act of god.

And apple customers are so loyal, I do not understand at all. Apple makes some very nice products, but then they turn around and ruin them by controlling the content so heavily.
