Chinese woman retweets joke, gets one year in prison labor camp

Cheng Jianping, a 46-year-old woman from China has been sentenced to a full year of "Re-education Through Labor" after she retweeted a joke her fiance had posted.

Her soon-to-be husband tweeted the following:

Anti-Japanese demonstrations, smashing Japanese products, that was all done years ago by Guo Quan [an activist and expert on the Nanjing Massacre]. It’s no new trick. If you really wanted to kick it up a notch, you’d immediately fly to Shanghai to smash the Japanese Expo pavilion.

The tweet was in regards to China's recent dispute with Japan over uninhabited islands in the East China Sea. Nationalists in China began smashing Japanese products in protest over the situation.

Jianping retweeted her fiance's message and added the following words: "Charge, angry youth."

Both Jianping and her fiance "disappeared" a week after the tweets went up, and the news came out this week that Jianping had been sentenced to one year of labor camp without trial, for "disturbing social order." Her fiance was released without any charges.

Twitter is banned in China.

  Unfortunately for them, all Blu-ray protections have been broken and BD rips can be found around the Internet, usually before the retail even hits shelves.

  Stupid idiots...I`m so tired of these idiots from both countries, being retarded and involving innocent people in the process. People like this (from both sides) should be sent to jail so they can learn to stop talking stupid. Seriously there is people out there who have had nothing wrong done to them from both parties but are too stupid to think for themselves and are like sheep and just follow the flock. Which makes the problem more and more bigger and never end.

  The North Koreans are kinder to most criminals. Instead of 1 year of forced labor that kills you after 9 months (and which does not end if you manage to survive a whole year), they just shoot you and end your suffering right there.

  Err my guess is the "joke" doesn't translate well. At any rate they live in China so really shoulda known better...Not saying it's right but that's how they roll over there...

  If you were to defect to another country they send the rest of your whole family to labour camps for the rest of their lives doesn't matter the age so you have babies going to labour camps as well.
  
  same deal for many crimes in north korea.
  
  china isn't so bad they shot drug dealers dead in front of their family and all drug users are sent to detox camps.
  
  just think 3-4 years ago they shut down all the internet cafes in the country because people were dying in them because they wouldn't get off a computer long enough to go and actually eat so food so would die from starving themselves.
  
  so at times they are actually doing the best thing.
