Nintendo sees strong console sales during holiday week
Nintendo has said today that they have already seen strong Holiday demand for their Wii and DS consoles, with 1.5 million being sold last week.

For the individual week of Thanksgiving, the gaming giant sold 900,000 DS handhelds and 600,000 Wii consoles, far out pacing past full months.

Adds NoA president Reggie Fils-Aime: "U.S. shoppers bought about 9,000 Nintendo hardware systems nonstop for every hour of every day during the week of Black Friday."

Year-over-year, DS sales were down from 1 million, but Wii sales rose from 550,000.

As a special promotion, Nintendo has launched new bundles of the console, including a 25th anniversary Super Mario Bros. red Wii and a green Mario Party DSi handheld.

Really don't know why people are still buying the wii, the ps3 and xbox360 both have motion devices that are far superior to the wii's. You can now get the fun family games in high def high end graphics along with way better accuracy. This way games should be much more enjoyable. Thats if there are any good titles.

Thats just it, its about the games not just the fact that they all have motion controls.
