WikiLeaks was homeless for a bit
Wikileaks, the group behind recent leaks of sensitive data, found itself homeless today for a few hours, after Amazon pulled its hosting services.

Earlier this week, WikiLeaks unveiled "Cablegate," publishing "251,287 leaked United States embassy cables, the largest set of confidential documents ever to be released into the public domain. The documents will give people around the world an unprecedented insight into US Government foreign activities."

Over 15,600 of those cables were classified as "Secret," with some dating as far back as 1966.

The cables contain confidential communications from 274 different embassies throughout the world to the State Department here in D.C.

Today, its American web host, Amazon pulled the plug on the site, however, forcing the owners to move it back to a host in Sweden.

Wikileaks had moved to Amazon's self-service after repeated DDoS attacks took down its Swedish-hosted site.

Sorry just the first two... I can't believe there are actually those who are ignorant enough to think wikileaks is a bad thing. Seeing people actually lashing out at the truth is mind boggling.

Oh yes, please do tell who has lost their lives because of WikiLeaks, provide evidence that these leaks alone have infact killed people.
It's a completely baseless argument the government keeps trying to use. When has been exposing war crimes a crime in itself? Do you WANT the government to keep that from you? Are you that willing to live in a government that keeps ignorant of activity that anyone else would be persecuted for?

This organization in its four years of publishing history — we don't need to speculate, it has a history — has never caused an individual, as far as we can determine or as far anyone else can determine, to come to any sort of physical harm or to be wrongly imprisoned and so on. That is a record compared to the organizations that we are trying to expose who have literally been involved in the deaths of hundreds or thousands or, potentially over the course of many years, millions.

OK...so you are an ignorant bigot who thinks that anyone from outside the USA is a moron, and you are so pig headed that you only consider USA citizens to be american; even though there are 34 other countries in America. Thanks for making that so clear. Perhaps you could also call him a ni**er; that would really push it over the top. No wonder you support the government...you have no mind.

Have to agree with you on one thing though, I'm not an american because I refuse to be part of country that puts profit before individual rights and lives. On the day the US government gets their shit together I'll happily be on their side again, but I don't expect that in my lifetime.

So secrets should be revealed but no the names of people to be held accountable for them? What a crock of complete and utter bullshit. As for Julian Assange I don't believe he ever tried to pass the blame off to anyone else. He knew what he was getting in to when he got these leaks from Brad Manning and others. The man and his project are just what this world needed.

I completely agree with you! These people from wikileaks are hero's in my opinion and the only reason they are on interpol's wanted list is because the rich and powerful got caught with their pants down! People need to realize that our government (not our people) is becoming rotten within and this could bring, all that's wrong with it, out in the open so that all of the good people of this country can demand we fix it! Please don't let the mainstream media fool you! They are owned by the same people that tell our politicians what to do so of course they are going to make (wikileaks and the people who run it) them out as monsters! There are 7 videos on utube about Wiki and what they are trying to do so watch them and then form your opinion! In a nut shell ,it's us people against the rich and powerful and their dirty way of doing business! I can't wait till they release the big banks info so we can all see what they are doing with all the money! I bet when we find out a lot of wikileaks haters will change their minds!
