Verizon will sell 25 million iPhones in 2011
William Power of R.W. Baird & Co has noted today that Verizon could sell as many as 25 million iPhones in 2011, basing the figure off a 1000-person survey.

The analyst believes a large number of Verizon feature phone users will upgrade to their first smartphone when the iPhone 4 hits.

Power was quick to add, however, that many factors could affect that number, including manufacturing capacity.

The latest analysis is the highest figure yet, ahead of Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster's 15 million estimate and Gleacher and Co.’s Brian Marshall's 12 million estimate.

Munster, in his analysis, added the following:

Android phones outsell iPhones in the U.S., but we believe when Verizon gets the iPhone, that trend could be reversed. As an example, in countries where the iPhone is available on multiple carriers and competes with Android, we see the iPhone outselling Android.

Never gonna happen. Is the Verizon CEO's head up his/her ass??........or are they just that arrogant and/or diluded????

They have 75 million customers and they believe that a 3rd will buy IPhones???

Well.........in that case...........might as well just drop all other phones except for 1 or 2 crappy ones for those not wanting IPhones.

Verizon...............once again proving they're conceited, shady and just moronic. They're success is attributed to screwing people which is why I left them after 4 years. Those with half a brain and a modicum of intelligence would be wise to switch to a lower priced service.

I won't be surprised if they sell alot I agree with lissenup2, but what I'm concerned about is the weight that it be on their network is my concern, especially with the recent announcement of "unlimited data". Expect this to be erased especially if the still want to consider themselves the best network out there. I like Verizon with their network/phones, but not how much of a money hog they are when it comes to plans and data, and negotiating w/you if you have a bill/phone problem. They act like it's not their problem half the time.

EDIT: BTW, they do have their heads up their asses if they think iPhone is going to surpass Android. Android is holding their own cause they have more phones/features and are not closed like Apple. Android is going to rule, plain and simple. More penetration means more phones in more customer's hands.

That figure does sound a bit high. I am also rather annoyed that they keep hyping up the iphone when the newest 4g android phones should be dropping in the next 2 or 3 weeks, with almost no fanfare.

I can't help but imagine the same thing happening to Verizon that happened with at&t......................network congestion due to overwhelming use......be it because of the IPhone or not........it happened.

Verizon has stated that they will inevitably follow the lead of at&t's 2Gb limited plans which is plenty of data anyway for EVERYONE. Anything more is mindless waste of resources and senseless streaming of material for all 24 hours in a day. People just don't need to be streaming music to put them to sleep at night.

I find this interesting. I'm not a fan of AT&T, but I am inclined to see what will happen with the Iphone and Verizon. My contract is up in Oct for Sprint, I may switch, but it has to be convincing.
