Sam's Club to sell Wi-Fi-only model of Xoom for $539?
DroidLife has posted some pictures today showing off a significant discount (already) on the Motorola Xoom.

The first tablet with Android 3.0 Honeycomb, the Xoom went on sale last week to much fanfare.

Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha has said the Wi-Fi-only model will sell for $600, but the pics from Sam's Club show off a $539 price tag, a significant discount that will place it in the same ballpark as the iPad 2, which will sell for $500 when it is released on March 11th.

There is still no set date for when the Wi-Fi-only model will be released so for now you will have to drop $800 and sign a Verizon contract to get a Xoom.

The powerful tablet has 10.1-inch display, 1280x800 resolution, a Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 32GB onboard memory (expendable via SD), a 5MP dual-LED flash standard camera and a 2MP front-side camera for video conferencing.

$539, not bad??? I would not pay $150.00 for it, we need to take a stand and say no to these things, what a rip, part phone, part laptop, but has many shortcomings of both. I want a phone that comes with a tablet and plugs into it as needed, so you have two items with their own memory (32gb + 32gb + microsdhc (another 32gb) and you can use the phones internet anywhere you go as needed or wifi (all that for $200.00). For now FU tablet makers...

    But I don't want a phone... I don't have a cellphone and I don't care how smart they are.

    Peace!
