Apple issues iOS 4.3.1 update to fix iPod touch glitches, more
Apple has addressed some bugs in its gadgets with the release of iOS 4.3.1.

The update is available for users of iPhone 4 (although CDMA just yet), iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (3rd, 4th gen), iPad and iPad 2. Apple supplied the following information about what the iOS 4.3.1 update changes over the recently released iOS 4.3...
  • Fixes an occasional graphics glitch on iPod touch (4th generation)
  • Resolves bugs related to activating and connection to some cellular networks
  • Fixes image flicker when using Apple Digital AV adapter with some TVs
  • Resolves an issue authenticating with some enterprise web services
The update also includes other improvements and bug fixes. It is possible that it targets vulnerabilities in the iPad that allow it to be jailbroken, but it isn't clear yet.

I wonder if they finally set it to update time from a time server rather than whatever the local tower happens to be broadcasting (usually wrong, and often without DST adjustments).

My iPod 2 took two days to activate on the Verizon network. As it tuned out I had to be in a stable WiFi environment and did a soft reset without erasing my data - which is what the Verizon tech wanted me to do. I was road testing it without my computer ( to see if I could leave the laptop behind)- so that was not an option.

I've noticed some wanky but unrecreatable glitches - but other than the activation issue - nothing to right home to Apple about.

Yet another example that Apple isn't the beez-kneez and "perfectly perfect" like so many of their ridiculously blinded and brainwashed followers believe.

The refreshing difference is that, unlike MicroSloth, Apple actually admits to their errors rather than subjecting customers to years of beta testing their "finished" products.

Microsoft does admit their errors...the problem is that they give specific details of security holes, and then they take 2 months to fix them (if they fix them).
