Netflix Android app gets updated, more devices now supported
Netflix has updated their Android app this afternoon, adding support for three more devices.

In addition to the Droid Incredible, Nexus One, EVO 4G, T-Mobile G2 and Samsung Nexus S, the app now supports the original Motorola Droid, the LG Revolution and the Casio G'zOne Commando C771, as long as the phones have Android 2.2.

The company also listed a few bug fixes:

-Fixed application failure on startup when phone's embedded storage space is almost full.

-Removed check that prevented attempt to playback on unsupported devices.

While the device check has been removed, reports have come in that the support is still very hit-or-miss on devices that are not officially on the supported list, including the new Thunderbolt.

Droid X anytime soon geez. Don't want to install the leaked GB just to get Netflix...

You don't need GB anymore according to the article; it says it works on 2.2 (froyo) and there is no device check. It might not show up in the market, but you can sideload the APK.

Personally, I like GB, so I am sticking with it...and netflix works great now (it started playing before, but it stuttered a lot...now it plays smoothly).

I wonder if this would be consdidered a "device" on Netflix since they limit the amount of devices that can be simultaneously streamed to do a MAX of 4 and 2 for the "unlimited 7.99/month streaming only" plan.

When I installed the app on my Desire HD, running the stock euro foryo rom. it doesn't give me an error message telling me my device isn't supported, it just will stop playing a video, seconds after it starts and bounce me back to the quere screen.
