It's finally here, the $8.2 million iPad with dinosaur fossil
Stuart Hughes has outdone itself this time.

The brand behind such excess as the $3 million iPhone and the £200,000 PlayStation 3 has gone prehistoric this week, designing the "iPad 2 History Edition."

Selling for the very reasonable price of £5,000,000 ($8.2 million USD), the iPad 2 has a frame built from T-Rex dinosaur fossil, alongside the usual diamonds and gold.

Reads the description:

Undoubtably the world?s most unique gadget is the Ipad 2 Gold History Edition. Encrusted with 12.5 cts of I'F' Flawless diamonds, a magnificent total of 53 individually set sparkling gems dwell beautifully in solid 24ct Apple logo with rear section formed again in 24ct gold weighing an immense 2,000 grams.

The unrivalled imagination towards the craftmanship of the iapd is down to its main front frame which is made from the oldest rock the world has to offer in the form of Ammolite , sourced from Canada this stone is over 75 million years old. However to make this masterpiece even more individual, sections of a 65 million year old T-REX Dinosaur's thigh bone was splintered and then shaved into the Ammolite , then finished off with ultimate jewel , as single cut 8.5ct flawless diamond inlaid in its own platinum surround with 12 outer flawless diamonds.

A magnificent combination of top of the industry technology and unique thought were involved in creating this piece of History !. Material spec, 16.5 ct diamonds & 8.5ct single diamond, 57 grams of T-REX bone, 750 grams of Ammolite stone and 2000 grams of solid 24ct Gold. This item is of a limited edition of only 2 units to be made.

Yeah... Just one question, can that gold be moulded into something else, such as a piece of sexual apparatus, because I reckon that would be more useful than the iPad. Just sayin'.

In a hundred thousand years the supermonkeys will dig up the ruins of our civilization...they will find one of these, and no more investigation into the end of man will be needed.

8.2 million bucks and still can't play flash video.. They should've waited until a quad-core tablet came out.

This guy should be taken out and beat to death along with anyone that would buy it. Maybe if the supermonkeys aren't busy...

    Just my $0.02,

This thing is still a better value per dollar than either of those.

Would like to see something solid to that, but at least those things weren't astronomically priced to begin with and then gold/t-rex/diamond-plated. And they did what they say they did, albeit what they were doing wasn't so hot; but doing something like this to an iPad (remember, a device that ~what was that ad?~ views the internet how it should be viewed or whatever, but only the 15% or so of it that it can view) is just a waste.
