RealPlayer update includes security fixes

Update addresses vulnerabilities in popular RealPlayer SP.

If you use RealPlayer for Windows, Mac or RealPlayer Enterprise, RealNetworks recommends that you make sure that it is up to date. The latest version of the software patches vulnerabilities and several other software bugs reported by users.



The security vulnerabilities, if exploited, can allow an attacker to run arbitrary code on a victim's PC. All the user has to do for this to happen is to visit a maliciously crafted website, or open a malicious file that targets the security holes.

  what do you mean who uses this? this software was recorded by Download Accelerator Plus with over 2,000,000 downloads last week, that doesnt include the number of people who download it without using download accelerator plus, its used by millions of people around the world and im one who uses it, its improced greatly from RealOne Player and i think people should give it a chance before knockingit

  I use and love realplayer. Its the best player out there. what is everyone else using? Windows media player maybe?
  If someone is using something better than realplayer, please let me know what it is.

  I manage a fleet of about 5000 desktops and have no idea why anyone would need this. Yeah can understand a home user might like it as their preferred media player for some reason or other (soft core porn streaming?). We're rolling out a new desktop and I haven't packaged Real Player for deployment to anyone, if someone misses it they can let me know and I'll ask why do you need this? We have quicktime, flash and silverlight available because there's legitimate business material on the internet streamed over these but not realplayer. We have 5 current users of it and I'll post back if one of them actually misses it and has a reason for needing it.
