Facebook and Twitter continue to see record traffic
According to comScore's July numbers for the U.S., both Twitter and Facebook saw record traffic (unique visitors), although growth is slowing slightly for Facebook.

In May, Facebook had 157.2 million uniques, followed by June's 160.8 million and now July's 162 million.

Twitter continued to post strong growth, moving from 27 million unique visitors in May, to 30.6 million in June and 32.8 million in July.

As of August, Twitter has completed its switch to the newly redesigned web page, which continues to add new features.

By comparison, MySpace continues to lose traffic, falling from 35 million uniques in May to 32.8 million in July.

Google+, the new social network from Google, was not added to the numbers, yet, despite having 20 million registered users.

G+ is a wasteland. It may have 20 million registered users, but they aren't using it half the time. I have 1 friend out of the 100 or so in my circles that posts daily, others might post once a week if that. The only ones who really seem to be using the service are celebrities. I follow a couple smalltime web/tv actors and they keep things pretty active, but if it weren't for them I'd only be seeing heather bitching about college every day.

I and almost everyone I've talked to only have a few due to no one wanting to switch or be bothered to create/maintain another social profile.

I have 0 friends on G+. None of my friends will probably switch to it until there's a solid hype buzzin' about it... Then they'll all flock like they did from MySpace to Facebook. It'd be cool if Google could release a potential opening date.

currently G+ is a waste of time.

there's nothing to do with it really video is only good if you ever make any use of it once your past that then nothing else to fuss about.

even the whole circles thing is a mess really as you add people but if they don't add you then you simply have dead people in circles.

I only have 2 people who signed up on the invite and they haven't done anything since not messages etc nothing, so that's 3 accounts doing nothing on there

Once it goes public, if Google plays it right, there will be activity.

And the Circles issue sounds like something they'll fix before they go public, since that is kinda odd :S

Considering everyone who's already a member can invite 50-200 other people, the fact that it isn't "public" yet isn't really an issue.
